Thiago Alcantara made his long-awaited Anfield debut at the weekend as he starred in Liverpool’s 0-0 Premier League draw with Manchester United.

The Spanish international started alongside Gini Wijnaldum in midfield as Liverpool managed to keep United at bay, although they also failed to score at the other end – sharing the spoils.

He received an impressive WhoScored rating of 8.5, the highest in the game, for his performance. Thiago won three tackles and six interceptions, whilst also completing five dribbles and providing two key passes in the match, showing off his quality at both ends of the pitch.

This was just his fifth appearance for Liverpool this season after joining from Bayern Munich last summer, having also started away at Everton and Southampton – along with substitute cameos against Chelsea and Newcastle.

Liverpool’s official Twitter account shared a highlights reel of his best moments in the game, including some sharp turns past United players and a few exquisite passes to switch the play.
