Middlesbrough is not an easy place to get to from London under normal circumstances, but going to an 8pm kick off there on a Tuesday night is hellish.

Chelsea got a superb turnout to the Riverside considering that, but those loyal fans were treated to a terrible showing from their team, who slumped to a 1-0 defeat. At the end they were understandably unhappy, and captain Thiago Silva went over to placate them, soon joined by some other players.

In the end, the fans aren’t going too crazy – there’s more applause to the players for coming over than there is abuse.
