Celtic FC Women are back in SWPL1 action this weekend as they entertain the League’s bottom side Hamilton Accies on Sunday at the Penny Cars Stadium with a 2pm Kick Off.

Celtic returned after the winter break with a draw against Hibernian, in a game they were incredibly unlucky to drop points in considering the number of chances they created. However, since then the response from Fran Alonso’s side has been a case of show no mercy. First Edinburgh City were thumped 12-0 in the Scottish Cup and on Sunday came arguably the best league performance of season as Partick Thistle were beaten 7-0 at Petershill.

Sunday’s game with Accies will be the first home game for the Hoops since returning from the winter shutdown – and for Celtic season ticket holders the game will also be available to view on the Pass to Paradise this weekend.

Celtic TV’s Louise Gould will be live from the Penny Cars Stadium, and will be joined by Academy Coach and former Celt, Heather Richards to bring you all the build-up to from 1:45pm, and Celtic TV’s Daylin Docherty will take over on commentary duty from kick-off at 2pm, joined by former Celt, Suzanne Mulvey providing the analysis.

With 20 goals scored in their last three games, this is the perfect time to tune into an in form and on fire Celtic team.

And one player who is making their mark in the Celtic team post winter break and one who has an SWPL1 league title win with Glasgow City to call on for experience is Tyler Toland and she took time out from a busy schedule to speak with Media at yesterday’s press conference, attended by The Celtic Star.

Tyler, who signed for the Hoops from Manchester City in the summer, was on loan at Glasgow City last season as they claimed their 14th league title in a row, and the holding midfielder has started the last two games for the Hoops. Indeed, her deliveries from set pieces were evident against Edinburgh City, where four goals were scored from Tyler’s assists, and as good a she’s been on her travels Tyler is very much looking forward to returning home and a game live on Celtic TV.

“It’s great playing at home and we’ve really made it a home for us this season. Seeing our fans every weekend really helps us on the pitch and I think having your own fans really pushes you on. “Our game is also live on Celtic TV, so hopefully we get a lot of people watching. Every game is competitive in this league, so we have to prepare like we would any other game. “We go into every game like it’s a cup final and we’re down to the last half of the season so it’s all about working hard and getting the three points.”

Tyler has also admitted to improving as a player at Celtic under Fran Alonso and his coaching team and appears to have no regrets at swapping EPL football for Celtic, stating the style of play at the Celts suits her game, and after a taste of silverware with the League Cup win last month, her eyes are firmly fixed on a possible treble.

“I think since I’ve come here I’ve definitely improved as a player and that’s down to the coaching staff. It’s a great club and it’s a very good standard here. I find training really good and I think big things are coming. I’ve really enjoyed it since I’ve come, I’ve loved the way Fran coaches us and I’m getting on well with all the girls. “We’ve got a taste of winning a cup and as a team, we want to push on. We want more success and we have the league and another cup to push for.”

Celtic head into the Hamilton Accies game in fine form and that title Tyler has her eyes on is the main prize at stake. Celtic remain seven points behind leaders theRangers and five behind second placed Glasgow City, but if current form can be sustained Celtic will know they have the beating of both those sides in head-to-head encounters, as such it will be a case of one game at a time until the opportunity to prove just that comes along.

As Tyler said the Celtic team do appreciate the support they get from the Celtic fans, and in this form it’s the perfect time to catch them in action.
