Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has opened up on his decision to leave Liverpool in 2015 and how his slip against Chelsea still haunts him to this day.

Gerrard went on the High Performance Podcast, hosted by Jake Humphrey, and spoke about ending his time at Liverpool to take a breather in America whilst playing for L.A Galaxy.

He also says that he is still haunted by the game against Chelsea, where his slip allowed Demba Ba to run through and score – ultimately playing a part in Liverpool losing out on the Premier League title.

Gerrard says that he has worked hard to forget the bad moments in his career, but he has been unable to purge them from his memory – despite all the good ones. The midfielder had an exceptional career, winning three League Cups, two FA Cups and a Champions League during his time at Liverpoolmaking over 700 appearances before leaving in 2015.
