The Spanish veteran celebrated his 37th birthday in July and seems in absolutely no rush to retire, even though his contract only runs to the end of the season.

It was his corner that had started the Lazio move, with Patric’s header cleared off the line by Jonathan Clauss, but the ball bounced back into his path to bend a left-footed finish into the far top corner from a very tricky angle.

That was Pedro’s first goal of the season in the fourth appearance for Lazio, although he had also provided an assist in the 3-0 Europa League win over Dynamo Kyiv.

He also assisted the Taty Castellanos goal later on against Nice.
