Victor Osimhen has finally arrived back to base after a delayed return from the Africa Cup of Nations, but it remains to be seen if he will be fit for Napoli against Genoa.

The centre-forward has been out of action since the end of December, as he was on international duty with Nigeria.

They made it all the way to the Final, only to fumble a 1-0 lead in their 2-1 defeat to hosts the Ivory Coast.

Osimhen had been expected back in town already, but missed his flight back from Istanbul, much to the irritation of Napoli chiefs.

According to Sky Sport Italia, he took a later Turkish Airlines flight and arrived in Naples this evening, at circa 17.00 GMT.

He ought to be in training tomorrow morning at the Castel Volturno ground and could be in the squad for Saturday’s Serie A match against Genoa.

The main issue is to have Osimhen ready for next week’s Champions League Round of 16 tie against Barcelona.
