Neil Lennon faced the Mainstream Media again today without any Celtic Fans media being invited along (The Cynic chaps confirming this morning that they were without invitation). Lennon started by discussing the injury situation – thankfully not involving Ismaila Soro who missed training today as twanged his car due to the adverse weather conditions (it doesn’t snow much in the Ivory Coast) but is fine and will be available for tomorrow’s game away to St Mirren.

James Forrest is now back in training with the squad but tomorrow will be too soon for him to be considered. Ryan Christie, who missed the weekend after rolling his ankle at Kilmarnock last midweek, is now fine and is available for selection as indeed is Shane Duffy who has been suffering from a bug for a few days but is now feeling better and is in the squad for the St Mirren game.

Lennon also talked more about the online abuse that people in the game are being subjected to and noted that social media platforms are not doing enough to stop this happening. He reckons that from a Celtic perspective this season has been the worst he’s ever known and suggests that this has been a shock to many of his own players.

These Mainstream Media Conferences are simply highlighting the disconnect between the club and the support and its hard to understand how anyone can think that this is good for Celtic. And with the club promising a Review in the New Year then just patching it completely then what happens is that in these horrible days when there are no fans at games the only thing supporters can do is to have their say via social media.

Maybe Celtic should consider holding a Media Conference later this week where Neil Lennon speaks to the Celtic Fans Media. And if not why not?

Here’s today’s Mainstream Media conference with the Celtic manager…
