A little over a year ago, Mason Mount was only just starting his battle to earn minutes in the senior England team.

Now, he looks as close to a nailed on starter as you can have in such a competitive team. He took the first press conference of the international period, sitting alongside manager Gareth Southgate, and it was even noted that he was the only player to start all 3 games in the last break.

Southgate has a lot of question marks in his team – but it looks and sounds to us more and more like Mount will be in that starting XI this summer.
