Marc Cucurella was given a second yellow card after full time of a nervy win over Brentford.
The full back won a cheap free kick to pretty much end the game, and it looks like one of their players wouldn’t shake his end after the whistle blew.
Literally in front of the ref’s face, Cucurella decided to push and slap the offender in the chest. What a braindead move.
This team had major issues with discipline last year, and despite being a lot better this year the problem is still clearly present. Yes it’s soft as bookings go- but it’s still so silly from Cucurella. He bascially has to reach over the referee to make the shunt.
He now faces a ban which hurts the team at a busy moment. Renato Veiga is next man up, but former Brighton man Cucurella has been in excellent form and is a perfect fit for the position Enzo Maresca uses in that part of the pitch.
There’s no question, it’s a loss to the team, and an unnecessary one given the circumstances.

Antonio Conte one regular day of Barclays meme.
We’ve never seen anything like it – Marc Cucurella is maybe the most box office player in Chelsea history. He has been both the worst left back in the Premier League and the best left back in the Premier League at different times, he makes massive mistakes and puts in excellent performances.
Last week he fell over twice and gave away two goals – but we won the game.
This week he scores a redemption goal and does a funny celebration – then gets sent off after full time.
Just one regular day of Cucurella, that’s all we ask for. Will never happen.
