Manchester United loanee scored another beautiful curling goal to earn Real Betis a point in their 1-1 draw with Valencia on Friday night.
Antony has been in fine form since joining Betis in the January transfer window from United. He lost his place in the team under Erik ten Hag and struggled to break into Ruben Amorim’s plans, following the Portuguese coach’s arrival in November last year.
However, the Brazilian winger has looked like a completely different player since sealing a temporary switch to Betis, scoring goals and assisting frequently.
He made it nine goals and five assists this evening during Betis’ meeting with Valencia at Estadio Benito Villamarín.
Antony broke the deadlock in the 40th minute, getting on the end of a good ball from Isco before expertly controlling it to set himself up and then firing into the top corner with his magical left foot.
The 25-year-old marked the moment by passionately kissing the Betis badge, while his teammates crowned the celebration by placing a hat on his head.
Unfortunately for Los Verdiblancos, they couldn’t hold on for the victory as Rafa Mir’s 75th-minute strike ensured the spoils were shared.
Beyond his goal, Antony managed to find his teammates with 36 of the 40 passes he attempted (90% pass accuracy). Three of his passes were key passes.
He successfully connected with the single long ball he pinged. He could not find his target with any of the two crosses he aimed.
Antony completed just one of the four dribbles he embarked on.
He won eight of the 18 ground duels he won and lost both aerial challenges that he rose to contest. He drew two fouls and contributed an additional five tackles.
It was another top performance from Antony, who continues to make it impossible for Betis not to make his signing a permanent one.

Antony and Betis are back in action on Wednesday when they come up against Chelsea in the final of the Europa Conference League.
