Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw has lifted the lid on what his manager told the team at half-time during Sunday’s Premier League match against Aston Villa.

Despite coming into Sunday’s match in better domestic form, it was Dean Smith’s men who took the lead first.

Attacker Bertrand Traore scored a sublime effort after just 24-minutes.

As the game’s half-time whistle blew, Solskjaer’s side went into the dressing room 1-0 down.

After launching a tremendous second-half comeback, inspired by three goals from Bruno Fernandes, Mason Greenwood and Edinson Cavani, Shaw has revealed that Solskjaer urged his side to keep fighting.

Speaking after the game, Shaw said: “He [Solskjaer] said exactly what I just said.

“We’ve been in this situation a lot of times this season so we know we can do it. We know we’ve got the quality. We’re a fit team now.

“We need to keep pushing and I think we always believe.”
