Barcelona fans will be in for a surprise at tonight’s Joan Gamper Trophy clash against Serie A side Como, as Lamine Yamal has decided to shake things up with a brand-new hairstyle ahead of the game.
The talented forward recently visited his trusted hairdresser, not only opting for a sharp new cut but also changing his hair colour.
Supporters at the Estadi Johan Cruyff will get the first glimpse of this fresh look, which is quite different from what he has sported until now.
It must be noted that Yamal will share the spotlight as he is almost certain to start alongside Raphinha and, quite possibly, Marcus Rashford.
Another key figure tonight will be captain Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who is set to speak publicly after reclaiming the armband.
All eyes, however, will be on the 18-year-old sensation, who impressed during the club’s recent tour of Asia with his skill, creativity, and maturity on the pitch.
As in previous pre-season matches, Yamal is expected to start the game in Hansi Flick’s first XI before being substituted in the second half.
The German manager will use tonight’s fixture not only to entertain the home crowd but also to fine-tune his squad before the competitive season begins.
Barcelona are just six days away from their La Liga opener against Mallorca, where they will begin their title defence. Flick will be keen to ensure his team are sharp, cohesive, and ready to hit the ground running.
With Yamal in top form and eager to impress, tonight’s Gamper Trophy is more than just a friendly; it is a chance to build momentum, connect with the fans, and make a statement ahead of the new campaign.
If Yamal’s hairstyle catches as much attention as his football, Barcelona supporters could be talking about more than just the scoreline after the final whistle.
