Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp mocked a journalist asking him a question about Thiago Alcantara and Virgil van Dijk ahead of their Champions League clash with Ajax on Wednesday night.
The journalist points out the qualities of Van Dijk and Thiago and proceeds to ask Klopp if his team will “stand a chance” of beating Ajax without the pair being able to play due to the Dutch side’s compact and quick play.
Klopp is quick to respond with a witty answer of “No” before facepalming and saying “Oh my god” out loud to everyone in attendance during the press conference.
Sky Sports Tweeted out the clip, showing Klopp’s interesting reaction to the question.
Thiago and Van Dijk both picked up injuries in the 2-2 draw with Everton in the Premier League on Saturday. Thiago’s is only a short-term knock and appears unlikely to rule him out for a significant period of time, but the same cannot be said of Van Dijk’s. The Dutch defender could miss the remainder of the campaign through injury after damaging his ACL at Goodison, with Van Dijk set to undergo surgery.
