Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says that he does not understand why the club will not be allowed more fans when they are due to return to grounds next week.

The government have confirmed that fans will return to stadiums from December 2nd onwards, with areas in Tier 1 allowed 4,000 fans, areas in Tier 2 allowed 2,000 fans and no fans permitted in areas in Tier 3.

However, Klopp is confused as to why Liverpool – with a 60,000 capacity – can only have 2,000 when a team with a ground capable of holding 9,000 is also allowed 2,000 fans.

Football Daily posted the clip on Twitter, with Klopp also saying that it is still good news for football.

The counter-argument to what Klopp is saying could be that the issue is when they are entering and leaving the ground rather than when they are in it. So it does not matter how big, or small, the stadium is, it is about how many people are congregating outside and traveling – potentially on public transport – to and from the stadium.
