Mason Mount was a fan favourite before he ever stepped on the pitch for Chelsea’s first team.

He’d come through the academy since the very start, and we were all excited to see him in action for years before he got his break.

The midfielder was never going to give up on his dream of doing just that. In a really fascinating chat on the Si Phillips Talks CFC podcast, his father Tony Mount explained that Mason’s never stopped believing his future was at Chelsea.

“I’m staying here and making it,” he would say. And he did make it.
