In the dying moments of the first half of Liverpool’s Premier League clash against Manchester United at Anfield, Reds forward Sadio Mane appeared to be in on goal.

When the ball was played in behind, there was still six seconds of stoppage time left. However, referee Paul Tierney decided to blow his whistle for half-time.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson said that it was “very strange” of the referee to blow the half-time whistle when there was still six seconds of stoppage time left.

We agree. The reality is, Mane could have scored. Had the Senegalese international been given the opportunity to score, he could have won Liverpool the match.

In the end, the match finished in a 0-0 draw. The footage below originally aired on Sky Sports, but it was posted to Twitter by Football Daily.
