Harvey Elliott continued his impressive start to life at Blackburn with a sumptuous through ball in their convincing win over rivals Preston in the Championship on Tuesday night.
The Liverpool loanee picked up the ball inside his own half and split the Preston defence open with a superb pass down the middle, with Sam Gallagher latching onto it before teeing up Dolan for a tap in at the back post.
Blackburn fan account Talk Of Ewood posted the clip on Twitter, showcasing Elliott’s exquisite pass during his 19-minute cameo off the bench.
Elliott, 17, has enjoyed a fine season so far for both Liverpool and Blackburn. He scored in his only appearance for Liverpool this season, in the League Cup, and has so far produced one goal and three assists for Blackburn in the Championship.
He has averaged a WhoScored rating of 7.06 for Blackburn, with only six players above him in Tony Mowbray’s squad in that respect. Elliott also has the joint-most assists for Blackburn, with three, and has averaged 2.4 key passes per game – more than any other attacker for the club.
