Lazio midfielder Matteo Guendouzi was given a warm welcome by the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Ousmanne Dembele and Moussa Diaby upon his return to the France national team squad this week.
Guendouzi, who is currently on loan at Lazio with an option to buy from Olympique de Marseille, has returned to the France national team set-up for the first time in almost two years as a result of his encouraging performances in Serie A this season.
The 24-year-old former Arsenal midfielder last played for France in their final group stage match of the 2022 World Cup, a 1-0 loss against Tunisia.
The official social media accounts of the France national team welcomed Guendouzi back to the fold with a video accompanied by the message: “Everybody is pleased to see Matteo Guendouzi again!”
Lazio later shared the same clip with a few words of praise, writing: “Welcome back to the national side!”
