This week was supposed to be a quiet one, with no Chelsea games for a while.

But of course that means newspapers push harder with their stories, and this week the Athletic claimed that there were Chelsea players unhappy with their manager’s selection policies.

Craig Burley was working as a pundit on ESPN, and he called the story “pathetic”, and for once, we’re on Burley’s side. If Thomas Tuchel’s isn’t playing you as much as you want, then you’ve just got to play better.
