Dean Henderson has made headlines on more than one occasion this season following some controversial comments after his season-long loan to Nottingham Forest was confirmed.

Since then, he has impressed for the newly-promoted side, already saving two penalties in the Premier League. His efforts have already earned him a recall to the England squad.

Speaking ahead of potentially making his first England appearance since 2020, Henderson admitted that despite his positive start to the season, he is still behind some of his competitors for a place in England’s World Cup squad.

Now, he has named one ‘not nice’ aspect of training with Marcus Rashford, whom he has shared a pitch with for both England and Manchester United.

“Either Kane or Rashford,” Henderson told Sky Sports when asked about which player strikes the ball the hardest.

“Rashford can slap it. Marcus will be like eight yards away and he won’t care that you’re in the way and he’ll just slap it straight at you and you can’t even move.

“You want to get out the way but you can’t get out of the way. It stings so much, especially in the wintertime. He just doesn’t care for the goalies, I’ll be honest, it’s not nice being there sometimes.”

Henderson has three years remaining on his contract at Old Trafford and considering the uncertainty surrounding David de Gea’s future, he could yet salvage his career at United. His immediate target will be to make the World Cup squad in November, however.
