We don’t ever take FIFA ratings or stats too seriously, but as an overview they can give a really fun impression of how things have changed.

It’s crazy to see players like Mason Mount – who was a kid rated 57/100, jump to an impressive 84. Christian Pulisic was a 69 just starting out at Dortmund.

Eden Hazard on the other hand was almost at his peak as an 88.

Things have changed a lot since then – we’ve had 4 managers and a raft of transfers. One can’t help but feel we’re in a much stronger position now than we were back then.
