Marc Cucurella has had some tough times this season.

He’s played some bad games and got plenty of stick for it from the fans.

But today he was great, especially in a strong second half, and really made some amends. While he can be a bit of a headless chicken on his bad days, that same frantic energy makes him popular on a good day.

So it was great to see him get big applause and respect from the away fans when he went to thank them at full time. They have been harsh at times this season but that’s understandable given the frustrations they’ve had. They’re always happy to praise the players when they put a shift in – and Cucurella certainly did that today.

Let’s hope this is the start of a big upturn in performances for Marc, and the start of a new era of good relations with supporters.
