Chelsea’s game on Sunday fell into the same patten as so many recently, and that’s so clear from the extended highlights.

They start brightly and with energy and dynamism. After missing some chances they start to lose faith and lose energy, and things calm down. They slow down and sit a bit deeper, while still creating (and missing) plenty.

Then, by the final 15 minutes, they’ve totally run out of ideas, the changes have ruined the shape without bringing any actual threat off the bench, and they play out the game with some of the most sideways football we’ve seen all afternoon.
