Celtic summer striking target Mathias Kvistgaarden appeared to pay an emotional farewell to FC Brondby’s supporters ahead of the summer transfer window. The 23-year-old played in the final game of the campaign against AGF, which Brondby won 3-2. The Danish centre forward approached the away end after the game and took their acclaim after the game, suggesting that he would leave the club in the summer.
The striker has been heavily linked with Celtic and it is expected that Brendan Rodgers’ side will make a return for the forward in the close season, as they look to finally replace Kyogo. Kvistgaarden has scored 47 goals for Brondby, laying on 19 assists, which will have caught the eye of a number of clubs. Celtic will want to get the deal over the line as soon as possible, preferably in good time before the UCL Play-Off.
Kvistgaarden was called up to the Danish National Team for the games against N Ireland and Lithuania, alongside Celtic No.1 Kasper Schmeichel and £25m Celtic export Matt O’Riley.
