Having been reinstated to the starting lineup for Brazil against Colombia at the Copa America 2024 last night, Barcelona winger Raphinha made the most of his chance, scoring a stunning free-kick goal.
The moment came just 12 minutes into the contest when the Selecao were awarded a free-kick around 25 yards away from the goal.
Stepping up to the plate, Raphinha fired in a spectacular effort that left Colombia goalkeeper Camilo Vargas with very little chance. Even though he got a hand to the ball, the shot-stopper could only tip it into the top corner.
Having lost his spot in the side to Savio in Brazil’s previous game against Paraguay, it was necessary for Raphinha to make the most of his return, which he did.
However, the result of the game did not go according to plans for Brazil as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Los Cafeteros, meaning they now face a tough challenge in the quarter-finals in the form of Uruguay.
Raphinha, who is very much likely to start again in the quarterfinals, will be coming up against Barcelona teammate Ronald Araujo, who is a permanent fixture in defence for Uruguay.
