Pierre Emerick Aubameyang's officially returned to Olympique Marseille sealing dramatic free transfer just 1 year after leaving the club for Saudi Arabia's Al Qadsiah.
The 36 year old forward was unveiled on Thursday as Marseille published spectacular announcement video showing Aubameyang stepping out to greet thousands of ecstatic fans gathered outside the club headquarters.
The Gabonese icon danced and sang along with supporters igniting the crowd as fireworks and flares lit up the scene. He then walked through the crowd shaking hands and thanking fans one by one.
Aubameyang joined Marseille in 2023 scoring impressive 30 goal in all competitions during the 2023 /24 campaign. His tally made him the first OM player since Didier Drogba to hit that mark and it earned him the Marc Vivien Foe Award as the Best African Player in ligue 1.
In Jul 2024 he signed 2 year deal with Al Qadsiah newly promoted to the Saudi Pro League. However the contract was mutually terminated earlier this month paving the way for his return to France.
