It’s been a huge week in training for Chelsea.

Later today they face Newcastle in a massive game which could decide whether this season ends up in the Champions League or not. So you can imagine that the temperature was turned up in training. After playing on Thursday night, today was the only session the team had, and they made the most of it.

8 a side tournament leads to big celebrations

A quick browse through the footage show things were intense and competitive, with a big 8 a side game taking place.

Noni Maduke, as ever, is being very loud (and quite annoying), and you can hear his voice shouting out throughout the session. His Blue bib team wins, and he’s loving it, saying he “knew” when he saw the team that they’d win.

“When I saw my team in the flesh I knew we’d win. We had the right balance,” the winger said.

It looks like his side had him, Reece James, Josh Acheampong, Malo Gusto, Levi Colwill, Marcus Bettinelli, Pedro Neto and Reggie Walsh.

Enzo Fernandez rasps in a ranged shot.

As well as the 8 a side, there also looked to be a shootout between Enzo Fernandez and Cole Palmer.

Palmer is hitting them well, favouring a few low finishes that makes it tricky for the keeper. Enzo was striking them high. We hope they can keep up this from in tomorrow’s game. It’s going to be a real battle out there at St James’ Park, and it may well come down to a midfielder keeping their head and finding the net from range.

Palmer looked to be finding some form last week and Enzo has been in good form all year, so we’re hopeful we can get the job done – but it won’t be easy.
