Inter will be closely scrutinising the performances of three midfielders during their Serie A title run-in, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Tuttosport’s print edition said Arturo Vidal, Matias Vecino and Stefano Sensi would all be fighting for their futures with the Nerazzurri in the final eight games of the season.

Vidal represents the biggest disappointment of the trio this season, the report argued, despite having played far more than Vecino or Sensi since his move from Barcelona.

The Chilean scored the opening goal during Inter’s 2-0 win over Juventus in January, but otherwise he has done little to deserve a place in the starting XI and has found himself relegated to the bench by Antonio Conte.

Vecino and Sensi have only played a combined 471 minutes this season, with both players struggling to overcome injury concerns.

Sensi wants to earn a place in Roberto Mancini’s Italy squad for this summer’s European Championships, while Vecino is looking to leave his mark on Inter’s likely Scudetto triumph, like he did when the Nerazzurri qualified for the UEFA Champions League back in 2018.

Both players face uncertain futures but the Turin-based paper said it was Vecino who was more likely to be sold.

As far as Vidal is concerned, Marseille and Flamengo are both interested in a deal but could be denied by the Chilean’s hefty annual salary worth €6.5 million.
