Victor Boniface is about to swap the Bundesliga for Serie A. The Nigerian striker is poised to sign a one-year loan with AC Milan that includes a purchase option. Both clubs have reached an agreement, and the player’s agent is in Milan this Thursday to finalize the contract terms.

After his failed transfer to Al-Nassr this winter, Boniface now finds himself on the verge of leaving the Ruhr. New Leverkusen coach Erik ten Hag is counting on Patrik Schick to lead his attack. This tactical shift has opened the door for Boniface’s departure, with the German management willing to let him go for a satisfactory offer.

A new challenge, first Serie A experience

AC Milan have had Boniface on their shortlist for several months, attracted by his impressive stats in a Bayer shirt. In 61 matches across all competitions, he has scored 32 goals and provided 12 assists. Last season, he featured in 27 games, netted 11 goals and supplied 2 assists—numbers that highlight his consistency and attacking impact. The Lombard club’s management have set their sights on this physical, mobile striker to bolster their attacking line.

The Milanese offer clearly met Bayer Leverkusen’s expectations, who have agreed to part ways with their forward. Victor Boniface is thus set to join AC Milan for the 2025/26 season. The loan deal includes a purchase option estimated at around €30 million. His representative is currently en route to Italy this Wednesday to put the finishing touches on the deal.
