Speaking to Sports Illustrated, VfB Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller has spoken about his future at the club.
When asked about his future at the DFB Pokal holders, the 24-year-old said:
“I’m currently not thinking about a move. Generally speaking, I’m interested in moving abroad at some point; I thought Florian Wirtz’s decision to go to Liverpool was cool. But only one thing is certain for me: At the end of my career, I absolutely want to play in the USA, in the MLS. This is 100% my plan, my goal”
This summer has seen Stiller linked with a move abroad, whether that be Liverpool and Real Madrid right at the beginning of the summer or Manchester United at the backend of the window. However, he remained at Mercesdestraßbe.
In Stiller’s contract, which is valid until 2027, has a release clause in his deal worth €40m. However, the clause can be bought out by Stuttgart for a fee of €2m, which means the Swabians can set the asking price.
This summer, Stuttgart have already lost Nick Woltemade to the Premier League, and they will not want to lose Stiller any time soon. The former Bayern Munich midfielder is by far their best and most important player in Sebastian Hoeneßs squad.
