VfB Stuttgart name new head coach

VfB Stuttgart have confirmed Tayfun Korkut will take over following the sacking of Hannes Wolf.

The 43-year-old Stuttgart native has signed a contract until the end of next season.

Stuttgart decided a change was necessary following a 2-0 defeat to Schalke at the weekend left them just three points clear of the relegation zone.

After a strong start to the season, last year’s 2. Bundesliga champions have picked up just three points from their last seven games.

Korkut has been out of work since his time as Bayer Leverkusen’s interim head coach ended in May.
