Last season, now-former Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino spent most of the campaign rolling out a 4-3-3 setup for his side, although he did often switch up the formation due to three-at-the-back ones over the latter stages of the year.

Over the early stages of the new season, PSG manager Christophe Galtier has played his side under a 3-4-1-2 setup, which includes a double-pivot midfield. Overall, Verratti, as he touched on after the match to Prime Video Sport France, feels “good everywhere” in Galtier’s tactical system.

“I feel good everywhere,” Verratti said. “I know what the coach wants, I try to help the team, play without the ball and cover the opponents. I help the defense, as I used to do in the past. It’s hard, yes, but I like to play that role. I feel good and I will continue to help the team.

“I know that if we play with two in the middle, it allows us to play with the three phenomena in front. I make the effort with pleasure because it’s an honor to play with these great players.”

PSG will now shift its attention to an away clash against Toulouse on Ligue 1 matchday five.
