Milan found themselves 2-1 down in the dying embers of the game in Switzerland yesterday but after some late pressure, they finally earned what their effort had deserved.

Alexander Simmelhack bagged a last-minute equaliser after some magic from Kevin Zeroli and then the midfielder scored the winning spot kick to spark jubilant scenes.

Final info

Today’s showdown will kick off at 18:00 CEST on Monday 22 April at the Colovray Sports Centre in Nyon. The final will take place at the same stadium where the Rossoneri thrillingly triumphed in the semis.

Abate’s side haven’t had long to rest and prepare given that they played on Friday night, but they’re nevertheless ready to return to the field in the most important game of their season in the young careers of many players.

The game will be shown live on the AC Milan Official App (MyMilan registration – for free – is required) and Milan TV, as well as Sky in Italy.

The opponents

Today’s game will not be easy against Olympiacos, who are also penalty experts and progressed to the final after a shootout victory.

They entered the competition from the knockout round play-offs, beating Inter (on penalties), Lens (on penalties), Bayern Munich (3-1) and Nantes (again on penalties after a 0-0 draw) to make it this far.

They’re also doing well on the domestic front, just like the Rossoneri, so a truly exciting clash awaits in Switzerland. May the best team win.
