Goalkeeper Stankovic spent last season on loan with Sampdoria in Serie B.

The Inter-owned keeper joined the Blucerchiati on a season-long loan deal, as they aimed to win promotion back to the top flight in their first season in the second division.

Stankovic was not the only Inter player who Sampdoria had on loan last season. They also had striker Sebastiano Esposito on a season-long loan deal.

Sampdoria were not able to win promotion to Serie A last campaign.

Therefore, the purchase option to sign Stankovic and Esposito did not become a mandatory obligation.

As such, Stankovic is back at Inter. The Nerazzurri are considering the solution for the next club for the 22-year-old.
