Another week of Premier League football comes too soon as third-placed Leicester City lock horns with Arsenal, who are currently sitting eight places below them in the points table.

Coming off the back of an embarrassing 2-0 home defeat, Brendan Rodgers will be hoping to pick up a positive result against the Gunners. However, it’s certainly going to be an uphill task against Mikel Arteta’s men as they will be heading into the contest full of confidence after the 3-2 win over Benfica in the UEFA Champions League.

The hosts will probably opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation with a couple of tweaks from their last match. Ricardo Pereira might get the nod over Luke Thomas, whereas Harvey Barnes looks likely to make his way back into the starting eleven.

Defence

Kasper Schmeichel is expected to start in goal for the Foxes, having kept two clean sheets in his last four league outings. Rodgers could choose to field a ‘back-four consisting of Timothy Castagne, Caglar Soyuncu, Jonny Evans and Ricardo Pereira as they look to keep things solid at the back on Sunday.

However, their prime objective will be to keep Bukayo Saka and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang quiet throughout the ninety minutes.

Midfield

Youri Tielemans will partner Ndidi at the centre of the park; however, they might be assigned very different roles. The former should take up a more defensive position, shielding the back three, whereas the latter will stay central, dictating play with his ball-distribution.

Marc Albrighton will start in the attacking midfield position. He’ll be accompanied by Ayoze Perez and Harvey Barnes on either side, playing on the right and left-wing, respectively.

James Maddison remains out with a hip issue.

“We’ve got no timeline on it.” – Brendan Rodgers revealed in his post-match press conference on Thursday.

“It’s going to be one of those where he doesn’t need anything surgically; it’s just going to be about once the pain dies down. I can’t put a timeline on it. It’s going to be about how he feels. We’re just going to have to assess that each day.”

Daniel Amartey will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on as an impact substitution if needed.

Attack

Jamie Vardy will lead the charge for the Foxes down the middle. The English striker will fancy his chances of finding the back of the net when he faces off against the Arsenal defence that has conceded nine goals in their last six matches across all competitions.

Kelechi Iheanacho might have to be content with a spot on the bench but could come on to make a cameo appearance in the second half.
