Jamie Vardy has gifted the corner flag he broke in celebration on Sunday to Leicester LGBT fan group Foxes Pride.
The striker wrote “Foxes Pride. Keep up the good work!” on the flag, which he also signed.
The group have received abuse after Vardy scored a late winner and broke the flag, which was adorned with the colours of the Pride rainbow flag as part of Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign.
The boyhood Sheffield Wednesday fan slid into and shattered the corner flag after scoring a late winner at Bramall Lane.
Vardy’s celebration sparked abuse aimed at LGBTQ+ groups and him gifting the flag has been well received.
“All at Foxes Pride have been saddened by LGBT-phobic comments online over the last few days after Vardy’s corner flag goal celebration,” the group tweeted
“We are proud and grateful for the support that Vardy and Leicester City FC continue to show for Rainbow Laces, LGBT fans and Foxes Pride.”
