Manchester United return to Premier League action on Saturday when they travel to the King Power Stadium to play Leicester City.

The Red Devils sit fourth on the Premier League table with 14 points from seven games. After a shock 1-0 loss to Aston Villa at Old Trafford, they once again dropped points at home in the 1-1 draw with Everton before the international break.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be desperate to bounce back to winning ways in the Premier League as his side embark on a tough run of fixtures starting from the Leicester City game.

Manchester United Team News

Manchester United were dealt with a fresh injury blow during the international break; Raphael Varane has been ruled out for a few weeks after suffering a groin muscle injury while representing France in the UEFA Nations League Final against Spain on Sunday.

Club captain Harry Maguire has not played since the calf injury he sustained against Aston Villa last month, thereby, missing the last two games in all competitions.

Further, Solskjaer could be without Fred and Edinson Cavani—the duo set to come face-to-face when Brazil play Uruguay in the early hours of Friday morning; thus, making their participation against Leicester City unlikely.

The Reds will be boosted with the return of Marcus Rashford in full training after four months out following shoulder surgery.

Goalkeeper

David de Gea was an unused substitute in Spain’s 2-1 UEFA Nations League final loss to France on Sunday. The 30-year-old has shown signs of getting back to his old best and will certainly be in goal against Leicester City.

Defence

With Manchester United’s first-choice centre-back pairing of Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane out injured, we are likely to see Eric Bailly partner Victor Lindelof on Saturday. The duo of Lindelof and Bailly will have to be at their best to stop Jamie Vardy and co. with Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka patrolling the backline from the full-back positions.

Midfield

Paul Pogba started the game against Everton on the bench but is a certainty to start in central midfield alongside Scott McTominay on the weekend. The 28-year-old played a key role by helping France win the UEFA Nations League, and that will give him some much-needed confidence ahead of the Reds’ trip to East Midlands.

Bruno Fernandes is one of the first names on the Manchester United lineup, and he will lead the team again in the absence of Maguire. With his vision, guile and set-piece ability, the Portuguese playmaker will look to make a mark against Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Attack

Jadon Sancho had a productive international break with England, which should lift his spirits after a slow start to life at Old Trafford. He is likely to start on the left flank with academy graduate Mason Greenwood providing width and creativity down the right.

With four goals in two games for Portugal over the recent international break, Cristiano Ronaldo will be raring to get on the score-sheet against Leicester and help Manchester United to three points on Saturday.
