Raphael Varane has spent two days visiting Como and meeting directors with coach Cesc Fabregas, but also has offers from MLS, Saudi Arabia and Roma to consider.
The former Real Madrid and Manchester United defender is now a free agent, as his contract expired on June 30.
He only celebrated his 31st birthday in April, so is a long way off retirement, and wants to choose the next step in his career very carefully.
The France international spent the last two days in Como and Milan, meeting with directors and coach Fabregas to tour the city and facilities.
Como just earned promotion to Serie A by finishing second in the Serie B table and have high hopes for making it stick with funding from Indonesian businessmen.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Varane has told Como he wants 10 days to evaluate with his family before making a decision, as he has a few other offers too.
They include Roma, so also in Serie A, along with unnamed clubs in Major League Soccer and the Saudi Pro League.
