😱 VAR stops Alisson being sent off TWICE in fiery Ecuador vs Brazil clash

South American football has a tendency to be spicy but Thursday’s World Cup qualifier between Ecuador and Brazil was something else.
Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro gave Brazil an early lead in Quito and in the 15th minute, Ecuador goalkeeper Alexander Domínguez was shown a straight red card for kicking Matheus Cunha in the neck after wildly attempting to clear the ball.
The madness didn’t end there, however. In fact it had barely begun.
Five minutes later, Brazil also went down to 10 men when Tottenham Hotspur’s Emerson Royal was sent off for two bookable offences.
And shortly afterwards, they thought they’d gone down to nine men when Alisson Becker was shown a red card for a challenge not too dissimilar to the one Domínguez was sent off for.
Fortunately for the Liverpool goalkeeper, the offence was downgraded to just a yellow card after a VAR review.
Ecuador equalised in the second half and then Alisson again thought he’d been sent off in injury time, only for the VAR to save his bacon for a second time.
It’s not often you see a player sent off twice in the same match, is it?
