Liverpool’s Europa League journey ended with a whimper as they crashed out of the tournament despite sealing a 1-0 win in the second leg in Bergamo this evening.

Mohamed Salah’s early penalty sparked dreams of a comeback, but Atalanta worked hard to ensure they did not concede more.

Liverpool recently drew against Manchester United before following it with another poor result at home to Crystal Palace.

The results allowed Arsenal and Manchester City to overtake the Reds in the title race, and they will need a helping hand to overhaul their rivals.
