There’s a glimmer of hope as manager Jurgen Klopp hinted that Van Dijk might participate in ‘parts of team training’ today during his pre-match press conference.

However, the Reds’ boss remained tight-lipped, simply stating, “We have to see what we can do there.”

Van Dijk has been has been a mainstay in Klopp’s starting XI, making 33 league appearances.

He has helped Liverpool keep eight clean sheets and contributed two goals and two assists.

The 32-year-old has won 82% of his aerial and 65% of his ground duels and recorded stellar passing numbers.

Ibrahima Konate just returned from an injury lay-off and will likely be thrown straight into the thick of the action against Spurs if Van Dijk is unavailable.

The Frenchman will partner Jarell Quansah in the centre of defence.

There’s better news about Conor Bradley, who’s back in training after recovering from injury. However, Diogo Jota remains sidelined.

Bradley will be happy to have recovered from the injury sustained during the 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace at Anfield, which kept him out for three weeks.

Jota was sorely missed in the second half of the season. He struggled with a hip injury while Liverpool struggled to find their shooting boots in his absence.

Liverpool have drifted out of the title race, but the game against Tottenham is a chance to regain their form.
