Van der Gijp tells Man Utd: You must say goodbye to Pogba for Ten Hag

Former Holland international striker Rene van der Gijp says Manchester United need to get rid of Paul Pogba before Erik ten Hag takes the job.

Ten Hag is expected to leave Ajax and take charge at Old Trafford ahead of the start of next season.

"[Ten Hag] can't do any worse than what has happened in recent years," Van der Gijp told Inside Today. "[Louis] van Gaal was not good at it, [Jose] Mourinho was not, [Ole Gunnar] Solskjaer was nothing, things must go well, right?

"He must have eager guests. Players like Pogba, who are busy with themselves all day, you have to say goodbye to that, you shouldn't have that, dude."

Pogba is set to be allowed to come off contract by United this summer.
