Two-quick fires goals early in extra-time saw Rangers overcome Hearts to lift the Scottish Cup for the 34th time in the club’s history.
Manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst was quick to praise the character of his team, who bounced back from their Europa League final defeat earlier in the week.
“When we have moments when we are down, we always have the support of our fans and always come back stronger,” said the 47-year-old.
“To end this week with a trophy is very good for us, very positive. It has been a very demanding week.
“I told them it was the chance to win something. We have to look forward and move on and that’s what they did today. All the hard work in the last couple of weeks and months was rewarded today with a trophy.”
Their cup triumph means that Rangers end their campaign with silverware for the second consecutive season.
