PSV new boy, Ruben van Bommel, hopes his new club can also sign Sven Mijnans from AZ Alkmaar. The winger has been a PSV player since last week, while Mijnans, who, as is well known, is on Eindhoven’s radar.

PSV turned their interests to Mijnans after Malik Tillman left for Bayer Leverkusen. However, AZ aren’t willing to let the attacking midfielder go. Moreover, they aren’t keen on selling him to another top-three Dutch club. Despite the Alkmaar side’s stance, PSV is not giving up yet.

Van Bommel hopes the transfer of Mijnans, who wants to play Champions League football in Eindhoven, can still go ahead. “I did talk to Sven about it,” the left winger told both Voetbal International and De Telegraaf during a media briefing in Germany.

“I just don’t really know what the situation is now. I would definitely welcome him. I get along well with him on and off the pitch. I would be delighted if he came,” concludes Van Bommel.

Mijnans, 25, has a contract with AZ until the summer of 2028. The Alkmaar side are expected to want around 12 to 13 million euros for the former Sparta Rotterdam player.
