At the forefront of Real Madrid’s flawless start to the season has been Federico Valverde, who is unanimously recognised as the club’s most in-form player so far.

However, his incredible influence stems beyond the Santiago Bernabeu, as he won the La Liga Player of the Month for the month of September. The Uruguayan international has reflected on his excellent performances up until this point of the campaign.

“I think I feel good in every way, both emotionally and physically. I’m working hard so that everything goes well together with my teammates”, he said, as quoted by MARCA.

With Carlo Ancelotti setting the 24-year-old a target of reaching ten goals this term, he is already halfway there with four in the league and the Champions League.

Touching on his impressive run in front of goals, Valverde commented, “I always work to be physically fit, although goals are very rare for me. In the goal against Mallorca, my great power and my good shot in the same play. Luckily the ball went in and the whole team celebrated.”

The versatile operator, who operates with some of the best midfielders in the world, gave them their props for the special qualities they bring on the pitch.

“Each one of the Madrid players who is in the centre of the field has unique qualities. Toni Kroos can provide calm with the ball, Luka gives us that magic, I energy and speed, and Tchouameni is pure defence.”

Named as Mahou’s Five Star Player for the month of September, the Champions League winner was grateful to the Madridistas for their votes towards his win.
