Valentini to undergo Fiorentina medical in Argentina | OneFootball

Fiorentina have their new defender, as Boca Juniors starlet Nicolas Valentini will undergo a medical in Argentina tomorrow.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the player will remain in his home country to have the tests with local doctors.

His current contract with Boca Juniors is set to expire on December 31, but they would prefer to bring him in over the summer for a minimal fee rather than wait six months to get him as a free agent.

Fiorentina win race for Valentini

Valentini had also been linked with Roma, Hellas Verona, Como, Cagliari, Lazio and Atalanta, but would appear to have agreed all personal terms with Fiorentina.

The 23-year-old has eight caps for Argentina at Under-23 level and has been called up to the senior squad, even if he is yet to play.

Thanks to his Italian heritage, Fiorentina will be able to register Valentini as an EU player and not use up one of the limited non-EU slots in their squad.
