Last summer, Valencia caused a stir by triggering the release clause of Pepelu, who had signed a 10-year contract at Levante just one year earlier. It was excellent business in the end, as the 25-year-old had a fantastic 2023-24 season. 12 months on from that deal, the two clubs are about to finalise another operation.
As reported by Diario AS, Valencia and Levante have agreed terms for the loan for Dani Gomez to Los Che. The 26-year-old attacker, who notched five goals in 26 Segunda appearances last season, is set to become the third arrival at the Mestalla this summer, after Stole Dimitrievski and Rafa Mir.
The deal between Valencia and Levante will also have a purchase option. If Gomez impresses Ruben Baraja during the 2024-25 campaign, he can be signed on a permanent basis for €1.5m.
Gomez had been managed by Baraga previously, at Tenerife. It was at the Canary Island-based side that he was on his best form, so Valencia will hope that a reunion will prove to be very fruitful.
