The first images of Valencia star Diego López sporting his new protective face mask have come to the fore online this evening.
López, for his part, was forced into a premature departure from Valencia’s La Liga meeting with Almería earlier this month.
This came after a blow to the face left the attacker grounded, and in evident discomfort.
After being hooked from proceedings, and put through a series of medical tests, it was subsequently confirmed that the former Barcelona talent had suffered a broken zygomatic bone in his left eye.
López, in turn, underwent surgery last week, to resolve the issue.
He was since spotted back at the Paterna Sports City this past Monday, put through a light series of running exercises in an early effort to maintain fitness.
And, as alluded to above, this evening, a further update on López’s wellbeing has come to the fore.
As revealed by Valencia themselves, by way of a post across the club’s social media platforms, Los Che’s talented winger has been fitted with a protective face mask:
As much comes with a view to López ramping up his comeback efforts over the coming weeks, albeit with the 21-year-old unlikely to be available for matchday duties for some time yet.
