A leading figure in the first-team ranks at La Liga outfit Valencia has agreed on the terms of a contract with Liverpool.
That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Giorgi Mamardashvili as the player in question.
The name of goalkeeper Mamardashvili has of course positioned itself front and centre in the media headlines across all of Europe over the course of recent days.
This comes after word was forthcoming that the aforementioned Liverpool had set their sights firmly on the signature of the Georgian international.
Viewing Mamardashvili as the ideal long-term replacement for current no.1 Alisson, the Anfield brass, in turn, kicked into gear negotiations with club and player alike.
And, as alluded to above, on Wednesday, the Reds are understood to have closed an agreement with the latter.
As per Fabrizio Romano:
‘Liverpool have agreed personal terms with Giorgi Mamardashvili. He’s keen on the move even spending one or two years elsewhere on loan.’
Interestingly, news of as much comes on the same day that word has surfaced of Mamardashvili rebuffing the advances of another leading Premier League club.
As per English journalist Sam McGuire:
