Valencia have been looking to bring in reinforcements this summer, and after Peter Federico’s deal was not made permanent, winger is a priority. They are reportedly interested in Copenhagen winger Mohamed Elyounoussi.
The 29-year-old Norway international has spent recent years at Southampton and Celtic, but back in Scandinavia, excelled for Copenhagen last season. In 46 appearances, he scored 14 times and assisted on 8 more occasions. Despite rumours of a bid, Valencia have not made an offer for him though.
Technical Director Carmelo del Pozo told the Tipsbladet that Los Che were yet to make an offer for Elyounoussi though.
“I have spoken with the agent about the situation, but at this moment, Valencia has not offered these things for this player. Maybe the agent has spoken with Copenhagen; I don’t know more about that right now, but I have not sent the offer to Copenhagen at this point,” told Tipsbladet.
The Danish outlet go on to detail that Valencia are keen to arrange a loan deal with an option to buy, but Copenhagen, who would like to hang onto him, are pointing them towards Elyounoussi’s €3m release clause.
So far Valencia have only brought in Stole Dimitrievski on a free from Rayo Vallecano, and Rafa Mir on loan from Sevilla. Samu Castillejo has returned from his loan at Sassuolo, but is expected to exit again, leaving only Diego Lopez, Sergi Canos and Hugo Gonzalez out wide.
